Paper jam/ Red light next to status on

  • First, open up the top cover of the printer entirely and reseat the paper stock. Ensure the plastic paper guides are set wide enough apart so that the paper does not become folded or bent.
  • Next, completely close the printer cover.
  • If the red light remains, power off the printer and power it back on. Once the READY light is green, you are ready to print again.
  • If this does not clear the error, you may need to ensure you have the correct Stock Name selected in the printer driver.
    • To do so, click on the Windows start button. Navigate to settings, then Bluetooth & Devices, then Printers & Scanners.
    • Select the appropriate pc/nametag BP500-PCN printer that shows it is ready.
    • Navigate to Printing Preferences within the printer driver.
    • Next, in the Page Setup tab, click on the Stock Name drop down and select the appropriate Stock Name that matches the stock you are using.
    • Click Apply then click OK. You should now be ready to print.

Nothing Printing

  • First, if you are using fanfold stock that has a black timing mark, ensure the black mark is facing down, and the FEED DIRECTION arrow is facing towards the front, or the area where the fanfold stock exits the printer. If your black timing mark stock also has any slots, please ensure the sensor of the printer is positioned so that it is not detecting any of the slots.
  • Otherwise, if you are using stock that has a gap between labels instead of a black mark, please ensure the sensor of the printer is positioned so that it is detecting the gap.
  • If that does not correct the problem, you may need to adjust the settings within the printer driver. To do so:
    • Click on the Windows start button. Navigate to settings, then Bluetooth & Devices, then Printers & Scanners.
    • Select the appropriate pc/nametag BP500-PCN printer that shows it is ready. Navigate to Printing Preferences.
    • Under the Page Setup tab, click on the Stock Name dropdown and select the stock that most closely matches the SKU of the stock you are using. Once you have done this, click Apply then OK. As long as the READY light is green, you are ready to print again.

Badges/Names are being skipped when I print

  • If you are using fanfold stock that has both black marks and slots, the sensor may be detecting both. You will need to position the sensor so that it is ONLY detecting the black mark and not the slot.
